热晕瞬态效应的数值模拟

根据瞬态四维（４Ｄ）热晕程序，研究了激光大气传输中热晕瞬变效应及如何过渡到等压近似下的热晕状态，并与等压近似下４Ｄ热晕程序计算结果作了对比，在大约四倍流体力学时间，瞬态４Ｄ热晕程序计算结果逼近等压近似下的结果；另外，还作了相位补偿计算，对光强每平方厘米几千瓦的情况，在理想的自适应光学系统动力学条件下，瞬变阶段的热畸变能相当有效地实时补偿。

Simulation input data modeling

Input data modeling is a critical component of a successful simulation application. A perspective of the area is given with an emphasis on available probability distributions as models, estimation methods, model selection and discrimination, and goodness of fit. Three specific distribution classes (lambda,S _B , TES processes) are discussed in some detail to illustrate characteristics that favor input models. Regarding estimation, we argue for maximum likelihood estimation over method of moments and other matching schemes due to intrinsic superior properties (presuming a specific model) and the capability of accommodating messy data types. We conclude with a list of specific research problems and areas warranting additional attention.     

A NONMONOTONE TRUST REGION METHOD FOR NONLINEAR LEAST SQUARES PROBLEMS

In this paper we present a nonmonotone trust region method for nonlinear least squares problems with zero-residual and prove its convergence properties. The extensive numerical results are reported which show that the nonmonotone trust region method is generally superior to the usual trust region method.     

FOURIER-CHEBYSHEV PSEUDOSPECTRAL METHOD FOR THREE-DIMENSIONAL VORTICITY EQUATION WITH UNILATERALLY PERIODIC BOUNDARY CONDITION

A Fourier-Chebyshev pseudospectral scheme is proposed for three-dimensionalvorticily equation with unilaterally periodic boundary condition. The generalized stability and convergence are analysed. The numerical results are presented.     

An equivalent polynomial approximation technique in nonlinear structural dynamics

Summary A new technique is proposed to obtain an approximate probability density for the response of a general nonlinear system under Gaussian white noise excitations. In this new technique, the original nonlinear system is replaced by another equivalent nonlinear system, structured by the polynomial formula, for which the exact solution of stationary probability density function is obtainable. Since the equivalent nonlinear system structured in this paper originates directly from certain classes of real nonlinear mechanical systems, the technique is applied to some very challenging nonlinear systems in order to show its power and efficiency. The calculated results show that applying the technique presented here can yield exact stationary solutions for the nonlinear oscillators. This is obtained by using an energy-dependent system, and for a nonlinearity of a more complex type. A more accurate approximate solution is then available, and is compared with the approximation. Application of the technique is illustrated by examples.     

Weighted Maximum Over Minimum Modulus of Polynomials, Applied to Ray Sequences of Padé Approximants

We then apply this to diagonal and ray Padé sequences for functions analytic (or meromorphic) in the unit ball. For example, we show that the diagonal \left{ [n/n]\right} _n=1 ^∞ sequence provides good approximation on almost one-eighth of the circles centre 0 , and the \left{ [2n/n]\right} _n=1 ^∞ sequence on almost one-quarter of such circles.
